This little homestay is in a secluded and safe place in the Molatey Tea Garden in Pokhriabong. At about 14km from Mirik and 29km from Darjeeling, this place is best for people who love solitude of the hills yet desire to access the best of Darjeeling in a day out trip. The windows of the two storied wooden cottage open up to the lush green slopes of the tea estate and the cool crisp air stirs like a lullaby. A lot of birds frequent this neighbouhood and the mornings and evenings are absolutely magical.
If you are aware of Abanindranath Tagore's fascination with 'kutum-katam' then you will be surprised to see so many beautiful artifacts adorning this homestay all sculpted out of wood. In various shapes, sizes and utilities, these wonderful minimalistic designs are all the homestay owners creation. Even wooden stools, vases, hangers, furniture are all uniquely designed here.
This little homestay has two double bedrooms, all tastefully decorated and exudes so much warmth and bonhomie, that you’ll immediately fall in love with the place. The rooms, as well as the attached bathrooms are well maintained, clean and airy. Large windows allow lots of sunlight and cool breeze inside. The rooms are furnished with locally sourced, sustainable materials, which you’ll appreciate for sure. The simple yet tastefully done interiors are in tune with the pervading theme,‘Nature’.
The hosts are very welcoming and caring and our guests have had really good time at their company. What is also noteworthy is the homecooked food. Both veg and non-veg fare are served using fresh fruits and veggies, either garden grown or locally sourced.

Darjeeling Tour
How to reach: Pokhriabong is about 62 kms from both NJP station and Bagdogra airport, and will take about 2 and half hours by car to reach. You can book a car from Siliguri or NJP to Pokhriabong High School, from there the homestay is 2 kms ahead. Alternatively, you can take a shared jeep from Siliguri to Sukhiapokhri. From Sukhiapokhri, you have to take a private car to reach Pokhriabong.
You can also come from Darjeeling, the distance to Pokhriabong is 32 kms and will take about 1 hour by taxi. You need to come up to Ghum (8 kms) and take a right turn towards Sukhiapokhri and then approach Pokhriabong. The homestay can also arrange a private car for you if you let them know beforehand
