‘The Gingko Eyrie’, an amazing bolthole for you, in the cradle of nature ☘
Even before you step into this exquisite accomodation, you’ll note the thoughtfulness that goes into naming the place. Be it the swaying wooden plaque or the lion figure perched over the gate, ‘The Gingko Eyrie’ is one homestay with a difference.
The sunkissed green lawns are lined with a lot of trees, flowering bushes and ornamental plants. A flourishing vegetable garden around the corner is another interesting place. You can try your hands at growing veggies even if you don’t possess a green thumb!
The sprawling garden area is where you can spend the entire day doing nothing but may be day dreaming. It has the most beautiful views of the verdant forests and mountains spread over miles upon miles. The Gingko Eyrie is a feast for your lenses (and senses, as well).

The gastronomical affair 🍛 🍜
The hosts at The Gingko Eyrie have a vision to curate a truly wonderful experience of their traditions and culture for the guests. The mud and bamboo house with thatched roof and rectangular mud oven on a raised platform is a wonderful example of traditional Gorkha kitchen. The materials are locally sourced, sustainable and set up with the local community joining in to lend their hands at.
‘Bhanssghar’ – The Gorkha Kitchen 🍳
Simple Gorkha delicacies are cooked with organically grown, garden fresh produce, (which you can actually pluck on your own) with a dollop of warmth and care. The results are obviously mouth watering. The interesting plating reflects a lot of thoughtfulness of the hosts. From cuisine to tableware to serving the guests, every details are taken care of nicely. Bamboo glasses, brass utensils, wooden trays… everywhere you’ll mark that blend of simplicity, tradition and all things close to nature. Their warm hospitality is something you would cherish later on.
“In sync with Nature”…thats the mantra
Your sojourn at The Gingko Eyrie wouldn’t be limited within the boundaries of the homestay. A number of guided treks and hikes would be arranged for you to get acquainted with the thriving rural life in ethnic villages and rich biodiversity in the verdant forests, mountains and banks of the meandering river.
Remember, happiness is a way of travel, not a destination
The jungle trails are great to discover one’s inner peace. Forests, like a true diva, flaunts different looks in different seasons, each one so resplendent with beauty and vivacity that only one possessing a keen eye would truly understand and appreciate the difference. Long walks in the idyllic landscapes, where silence is broken by the chirping birds and the murmuring of leaves takes you to an elevated state of mind. Now, the prosaic tensions and pretensions of mundane life would no longer worry you.
